About Us
Our Story
House of Taraa London is a family-led interiors house built upon generations of expertise in rugs, textiles, antiques, and craftsmanship.
The name honours the legacy of Dr. Tara Chand Goyal, whose lifelong dedication to antique carpets, handwoven textiles, and collecting helped shape a remarkable heritage within the industry. Known for his deep knowledge and discerning eye, he spent decades building relationships with artisans, collectors, designers, and institutions around the world, championing the beauty and cultural significance of handcrafted textiles.
Alongside his son, Mr. Rajesh Goyal, and his daughter-in-law Mrs. Sangeeta Goyal, this passion evolved into a family vocation. Together, they nurtured relationships with weaving communities across India, sourced exceptional antiques and textiles, and built a trusted network that would serve designers, collectors, and private clients internationally for decades to come.
The next generation expanded this foundation even further. Yash Goyal and Bhawya Goyal helped grow the family's presence across global markets, strengthening partnerships abroad and establishing a foothold in the United States. Their sister, Saundarya Goyal, led the family's transition into the digital world, helping bring generations of craftsmanship to a wider audience through e-commerce and modern retail.
Today, House of Taraa London represents the newest expression of this legacy. Founded by Yash Goyal and Divya Goyal, the house brings together heritage craftsmanship and contemporary living. Yash continues the family's longstanding connection with artisans, textiles, and design, while Divya leads client relationships and the bespoke experience that defines the brand today.
At the heart of House of Taraa London is a simple belief: exceptional pieces should be made without compromise. We work with more than 120 artisans across India, many from families whose weaving and embroidery traditions span generations. Every rug, tapestry, cushion, and textile is crafted with patience, skill, and respect for the materials from which it is made.
We do not create for seasons, nor do we follow trends. Our collections evolve slowly, guided by craftsmanship rather than calendars. Some pieces take months to complete; others require years. We believe true luxury lies in authenticity, provenance, and the time devoted to making something extraordinary.
Alongside our online collection, clients are invited to visit our private appointment boutique in Canary Wharf, London, where selected pieces can be viewed in a more personal setting and bespoke projects discussed in confidence.
House of Taraa London exists for those who appreciate craftsmanship over convenience, heritage over fashion, and objects with lasting meaning. These are pieces designed not simply for today, but for generations to come.
